UPDATES

We are always thinking of ways to better improve the classes to help you meet your goals. Along the way we will be making some changes, seeing what works and what doesn’t, especially with the changing climate with COVID-19.

Your flexibility and patience is greatly appreciated during this time as we endeavour to be as flexible to your needs as possible.

AUGUST 2020 UPDATE:

COVID-19 Preparations

In accordance with government regulations and taken from the advice of current students, we've prepared a small summary of the measures I will be carrying out to ensure all students who wish to take classes can do so in a safe environment.

At the beginning of each new class, safety measures will be discussed between students and the teacher. This will allow each class to specifically tailor their approach so everybody feels safe and comfortable in the studio.

If you have any questions, queries or suggestions, we would love to hear from you.

Please feel free to let us know your thoughts at contact@thenewsewingschool.com

BEFORE CLASS

- Please ensure all hands are washed in the kitchen by the entrance before entering class

- Please respect the safety of other students and those around the studio by maintaining a 1.5m distance

- Gloves and disinfectant will be provided upon entry for those who would prefer to wear gloves whilst in class.

DURING CLASS

- A 1.5m distance is advised to be kept between students

- You are free to use disinfectant throughout the lesson

- Gloves are required to be worn whilst using shared machinery such as the overlocker or steam iron.

AFTER CLASS

- Everyone is asked to maintain a 1.5m distance while exiting the studio

- Feel free to wash your hands in the kitchen downstairs before leaving the studio

- All machinery and equipment used from the studio will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each class by myself.

ABSENCES & HOLIDAYS

Retake lessons will take place during term time. Where this is not possible, I have introduced a short retake period in between term times. Each student is allowed 2 retake lessons.

If you or someone you are living with display symptoms of cough, cold or fever, please do not come into class and let me know as soon as possible.

FACE MASKS

Face masks are required to be brought to the classroom and worn at the discretion of the individual.
