INSTRUCTIONS & PATTERNS TO KEEP ARE INCLUDED IN THIS COURSE

All bookings include entry to our Sunday Open Studio day. Work on your own projects, or spend some extra independent time on your TNSS work at our studio. With the supervision and technical assistance of a teacher.

Open every fortnight. From 12.00-18.00.

All courses include personal use of a sewing machine, COVID regulated working space and a mannequin.

We also have a large library of designs in EU sizes 36 - 44 for use in and outside of class included in the class price.


Our studio also includes:
- Three-thread overlocker
- Four-thread overlocker
- Iron press and tailoring hams
- Small equipment for rented use
(Paper scissors, threads, measuring tapes, rulers)

The Basic Jacket Sewing Course is focused on giving you all the tools required to start creating your own clothes.

You'll be guided through taking your sewing skills to the next level by:

- Gaining deeper knowledge of pattern cutting, its symbology and abbreviations
- Becoming comfortable with garment specific construction techniques and where to use them
- Practise finishing techniques from fast fashion to ready-to-wear quality

You will also learn how to:

- Sew a set-in sleeve
- Create shape in fabric to fit the body using darts
- Using and making your own bias binding
- Pattern cut & sew mandarin collars
- Basic buttonhole fastenings and invisible zips
- Using muslin/calico to create toiles
