INSTRUCTIONS & PATTERNS TO KEEP ARE INCLUDED IN THIS COURSE

All bookings include entry to our Sunday Open Studio day. Work on your own projects, or spend some extra independent time on your TNSS work at our studio. With the supervision and technical assistance of a teacher.

Open every fortnight. From 12.00-18.00.

We also have a large library of designs in EU sizes 36 - 44 for use in and outside of class included in the class price.

Our studio also includes:
- Three-thread overlocker
- Four-thread overlocker
- Iron press and tailoring hams
- Small equipment for rented use
(Paper scissors, threads, measuring tapes, rulers)

In this 4 week course you'll be introduced to the different functions of the sewing machine as well basic construction techniques used when sewing.

The course is aimed at giving you an introduction to patterns, construction techniques, fabrics and most commonly used terminology in sewing and dressmaking.

The course includes the completion of a self-designed tote bag. 

You will also learn how to:

- Thread and handle fabric through the machine

- Sew easy straight lines and join fabric together

- Attach zip fastenings and button closures


Basic decorative techniques to choose from:

- Ruffles, gathers and pleats

- Applique and patchwork
